Cigarette Design: 8.5/10 this cigarette is hugely
interesting because it is an all white, or near enough cigarette. The cigarette
has a normal kingsize filter as far as I can tell, however as I thought this
was too good to be true I looked even closer than usual and guess what I found.
I found a thicker band of paper around the bottom of the tobacco tube! Loosing
tobacco and flavour during the last drags. However there is another flaw to
this cigarette, the filter is perforated. However these are both minor problems
because if you wish to have no perforations just cover them with your finger or
a piece of tape. The cigarette is also very aesthetically pleasing, it's filter
is light matte grey with a white tobacco tube. It also contains a small blue
dot, directing the smoker where to pop the capsule and change the taste. Very
simplistic has a B&H Dual logo on the thicker band of paper and press here
underneath the blue dot. A very nice cigarette but the thicker band of paper
loses the cigarette they 1.5 marks!
Unlit Aroma: 6.5/10 there's not a lot to smell, a
very slight hint of Virginia tobacco but that's it, however of the tobacco I
actually could smell there was a certain sweetness to it, pleasurable but not
great.
Dry Drag: 7.5/10 nice draw, not a huge amount of
resistance, similar to a B&H Silver. For me the perfect drag, proving that
when the menthol capsule has been popped there is less resistance when dragging
on the cigarette. As for flavour, there
is a cool sensation at the back of my throat when dragging, however not like a
menthol kick but a peppermint flavour. A lot sweeter than a menthol, reminding
me of polo mints.
TNC: Tar-8mg Nicotine-0.6mg
Carbonmonoxide-10mg
LET'S LIGHT UP!
First
Impressions: 8.5/10 the quality of the flavour with the menthol capsule popped is
fantastic, definitely not a lack of flavour, the weak but sweet tobacco provides
a pleasant taste mixed with the cool sensation of peppermint and spearmint,
provide a great initial flavour. Nice even burn, no tailings and mild throat
hit.
Harshness: 6/10
somehow the cigarette with the capsule popped is slightly harsher that the un-popped
cigarette, however still a relatively light cigarette, however as with all
menthols/mint (usually capsule) cigarettes there is always a cool sensation at
the back of your mouth and throat. With this cigarette there is not an overwhelming
menthol hit, however a gentle mint massage of your mouth and throat.
Flavour: 8.5/10
this cigarette has a great flavour. The sweet tobaccos mixed with the smooth
mint taste create a world leading taste. When exhaled through the nose you discover
a whole new flavour, of sweet tobacco with a hint of mint, reminding me of Gawith
Apricot Snuff, it has the sweet flavour and tobacco aroma that can make a
tobacco user fall in love, obviously you can’t detect any hints of apricot, but
I can detect slight hints of toffee however I exhale. The mint flavour is just
that, mint. Instead of a cold menthol hit, this is much more pleasurable and
easy to smoke. Reminding me of soft mints.
Burn: 5.5/10 not the best, not the worst. A
completely average burn time, similar to a B&H silver or American Spirit
Blue. Average but leaning to the faster side of things.
Buzz: 5.5/10 not much I can say on this other than
check the TNC levels.
Last
Drags: 9/10 a very sweet but minty taste, light to low full strength throat hit
and a continuous average burn, very pleasurable.
Consistency:
8.5/10 a very consistent cigarette, the flavour even growing in intensity slightly,
remains fairly consistent providing a high quality flavour. The burn NEVER
changes, completely average. Consistent throat hit. Great cigarette all the
way!
After
Smoke: 8.5/10 a very nice aftertaste, reminds me of sucking on soft mint or
chewing on a bit of chewing
while smoking, that’s really all I can compare it with, the mint taste remains
for a round 5-10 minutes, after that time the tobacco taste begins to seep
through, however this is a quality sweet taste. No pain in my lungs or throat.
Cost: 10 pack: N/A 20
pack:£6.93 (30/10/2012)
Value for money:
9/10 a mid-priced cigarette however this cigarette is a luxury smoke, another
factor that adds value to this cigarette is, the fact that you can choose
between flavours, two in one. This accompanied by a great taste, throat hit and
several other factors to the cigarette. I would happily pay £7.60 for a pack of
20.
Overall
(including cost): 9.5/10 very pleasurable smoke, as I mentioned before, great
sweet tobacco flavour with a mellow mint flavour, the burn is completely average,
smooth throat hit, this cigarette ticks all the boxes for me. Even though they
are NOT for a full flavour smoker.
Overall (not including
cost): 7/10 even though they are a very nice smoke, there are much better
available on the UK market. I do like these cigarettes, however they are not
anywhere near some of the UK’s best cigarettes, however they are a great
convertible cigarette and for some people.
Would I recommend them?
Yes, to light smokers, those who want a change from
their usual brand, one off tries and as a last cigarette of the day.
Will I be smoking them again?
Probably, because they are a very nice light with
the capability of becoming a menthol, which is much nicer. A great cup of tea
then bed cigarette. Mellows me out!
